Establishment & Location

The George Washington University Chapter of the League of United Latin American Citizens (GW LULAC) was established in 2017.

What we do on campus

On campus we hold general body meetings, fundraisers and events, that promote GW LULAC and its mission to empower all Latinos, whether it is political, economical, educational, or social.

Conferences

GW LULAC gives an opportunity to GW students to go to different conferences in the District of Columbia and beyond. Most notably GW LULAC attended the CHCI (Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute), LULAC Collegiate Conference and the Ignite Women's Political Conference in New York City.

Community Service

Throughout the year, GW LULAC has volunteered on several occasions for functions, and events.

Our Mission

Purpose

The purpose of LULAC shall be to provide an avenue for GW students to have a positive impact on the GW and DC community at large through civic engagement while working towards the development of the Latino community. The objective of this organization is to provide a space for Latino students and students interested in Latino culture to effectively organize for the advancement of the Latino community and of themselves through professional development.

Mission Statement

The George Washington University LULAC Collegiate Council strives to equip its members with the skills, knowledge, and experience they need to become leaders in their fields while encouraging them to give back to the country’s Latino/Hispanic community. We aim to increase the cohesion and integration of the Latino community through academics, advocacy, and action/professional development.
